Privacy Policy

The short version

We don't track you. We don't sell your data. We don't know who you are. The only things stored are small cookies on your own device to save your progress — and only if you said yes to that. No servers. No databases. No third-party analytics with your name on them.

What we store and why

WageSlave stores two types of data, both locally on your device only:

That's it. No email. No name. No IP address. No device fingerprint. No cross-site tracking. The cookies never leave your browser.

Cookie consent

We ask for your consent before writing any cookies. If you decline, the site works normally — your visit count and community stats just won't persist between sessions. You can change your mind anytime by clearing your browser's localStorage and cookies for this domain.

If your browser or an extension is blocking cookies entirely, we detect that and let you know upfront. No data is stored in that case regardless of what you click.

Third-party services

WageSlave loads two external resources. We have no control over their privacy practices:

Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — loads the typefaces used on this site. Google may log the request including your IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare cdnjs (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) — loads Chart.js for the salary charts. Cloudflare may log CDN requests. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Both are standard CDN requests. No account data, no cookies, no tracking pixels are involved in these requests from our side.

No server, no database

WageSlave is a static website hosted on GitHub Pages. There is no backend server, no database, and no server-side logging of any kind. All computation happens in your browser. Nothing you enter (salary, hours, job role) is ever transmitted anywhere.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you're in the EU, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data held about you. Since we hold no personal data on any server, there's nothing to request — but if you have questions, contact us via the address in the Impressum.

To delete the cookies and localStorage data WageSlave has set, use your browser's built-in privacy tools:

Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cookies and site data
Firefox: Settings → Privacy → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data

Changes to this policy

If we ever add analytics, a backend, or any new data collection, this page will be updated before those features go live. We'll note the date of the last update at the top.
